SAN DIEGO – Throwing for 358 yards and five touchdowns in a convincing win at Davidson, quarterback
Reid Sinnett was named the Pioneer Football League (PFL) Offensive Player of the Week for week seven, the league office announced.
Sinnett, who won the conference's weekly award in week four, completed 84.4% of his passes (27-of-32) en route to accumulating the 358 yards in the air. The redshirt senior led all PFL quarterbacks in yards, touchdowns and completions while his touchdowns, completions and completion percentage were career-highs.
A native of Johnston, Iowa, Sinnett was efficient all game, but in the Toreros' big second-half in which they outscored the Wildcats 20-0, he went 12-of-14 with 187 yards and three touchdowns. He helped put the game away by completing all seven of his final passes and finished without throwing an interception for the third consecutive contest.
Through week seven, Sinnett is one of the top quarterbacks in the FCS. He ranks first in total offense (358.6) and is second in completion percentage (71.8%), passing efficiency (189.6), and passing yards per game (347.6).
Sinnett and the Toreros (3-2, 2-0 PFL) return home for their next PFL game when they take on Valparaiso on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Torero Stadium. USD has won 31 straight conference games, the longest active streak in all of Division I.
