Season Continues in the NIT

San Diego selected to NIT for first time in program history

SAN DIEGO – San Diego earned an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament and will travel to Memphis for the first round on Tuesday at 5 p.m. PT.

The Toreros (21-14) will compete in the NIT for the first time in program history when they take on the Tigers (21-13). The game will be streamed on ESPN3.com and broadcast on Mighty 1090AM.

USD was one of 22 teams to receive and at-large bid and is the only team selected from the West Coast Conference. The Toreros are a No. 6 seed and the Tigers are a No. 3.

The Toreros played their best basketball down the final stretch of the season, culminating with three dominating victories in the WCC Tournament before being edged by eventual WCC Tournament champion, Saint Mary's, in the semifinals.

USD recorded its second consecutive 20-win season in 2018-19 – the first time the Toreros accomplished the feat as a Division-I program.
