As the spring semester winds down and the look ahead to the summer starts for the Toreros, rising redshirt junior Joey Calcaterra checks in with five answers to see how he has worked through his unexpected time at home in the Bay Area.
Best part of being back home in the Bay Area right now?
It's rare for me to be able to spend this much time at home with my family. Being down in San Diego training all summer and then obviously being down there during the school year takes away from the family time we could get, so it's nice to all be together for this long.Â
I've really enjoyed playing basketball with my two older brothers again. We used to play all the time against and with each other throughout our childhood and high school, so it's nice to get the chance again to do it on a regular basis.Â

What is your day-to-day life like given the current circumstances (classes, basketball, normal life things)?
I'm fortunate enough to have a basketball hoop in my front yard and a weight room in my garage. My days are similar to how they would be if I was down at school right now. Lots of schoolwork and workouts. I like to keep my routine the same whether I'm at home or in San Diego. Not much has changed since the stay-at-home orders started in California.

Top follow on social media you would recommend to others?
I like to follow shoe accounts like Goat.Â
Â
Movie or show recommendation from over the last few weeks?
I've been through a couple new shows on Netflix, like Ozark and Money Heist.Â
Â
What is one thing you miss most about basketball?
I miss being around my teammates every day, on and off the court. Even if we aren't together in the gym, we are usually with each other hanging out around campus and in our houses/apartments.Â
