SAN DIEGO – The University of San Diego Athletic Department has announced record-breaking numbers for Torero Tuesday, the university's annual giving day. USD Athletics raised a total of $305,000, the largest amount raised in history.

Seven teams surpassed their dollar-raised goal, including baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, cross country/track, men's tennis, women's tennis, and volleyball.

The department received 845 total gifts, including 300 former scholar-athletes.

For the University as a whole, more than $1.875 million was raised during the eighth annual event.

More than 2,700 gifts were made from generous donors around the globe during the 24-hour campaign in support of USD. The gifts received will go toward academic and extracurricular programs, athletics and scholarships.
