SAN DIEGO – The Pioneer Football League (PFL) has announced its 2022 Preseason Poll and All-PFL Team.
 
With 91 total points and three first-place votes, the Toreros were selected to finish second. Sophomore wide receiver Vance Jefferson, junior offensive lineman Finley Lecky, redshirt junior defensive lineman Will Buck, graduate defensive lineman Muhindo Kapapa, redshirt senior linebacker David Ambagtsheer, and senior defensive back Amir Wallace were each named to the Preseason All-PFL Team.
 
The upcoming 2022 season marks the 30th year for the Pioneer Football League – the nation's only non-scholarship, football-only NCAA Football Championship Subdivision conference. The league will feature 11 teams each playing an eight-game schedule to determine the league champion and recipient of the automatic bid to the NCAA FCS Championship. Last season, USD clinched a record-tying 12^th PFL crown, winning seven straight games to close the season.
