SAN DIEGO - For the second consecutive time, the University of San Diego women's tennis team swept the West Coast Conference (WCC) Weekly Awards.Â
Elizabeth Goldsmith won UCU WCC Singles Player of the Week, and Goldsmith was also part of the UCU WCC Doubles Team of the Week with her partner
Kailey Evans.
Goldsmith went 2-0 in singles this week, helping USD to advance to the ITA Indoor Championships after two wins at ITA Kickoff Weekend. On Friday against #25 Georgia Tech, she won at No. 5, 6-1, 6-2. On Saturday against #11 Cal, she won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 over the #93 ranked player in the NCAA.
#53 Evans/Goldsmith went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles this week, helping USD advance to the ITA Indoor National Championships after ITA Kickoff Weekend. Against #25 Georgia Tech on Friday, they defeated the #53 ranked duo, 6-4. On Saturday against #11 Cal, they beat the #15 ranked duo, 6-3.
USD will face SMU on Thursday for a neutral site contest in Tempe, AZ. The 2023 ITA Indoor National Team Championships will run from February 10 to 13 in Seattle.Â
