Ethan Warne Named United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American

Warne was a key member of the last four WCC champion Torero squads

SAN DIEGO – On Friday afternoon, the United Soccer Coaches Association unveiled their 2025 NCAA Division I All-America Teams. USD graduate student defender Ethan Warne was picked as a Third Team All-American following his stellar final season at San Diego where he earned the West Coast Conference's Defender of the Year award.

USD made history in 2025 by winning their fourth straight WCC title becoming the first men's soccer program in league history to four-peat. The tremendous regular season helped the Toreros earn a first round bye in the NCAA Tournament and the ninth overall seed in the 48 team bracket.

Warne played in 18 matches for the Toreros and played the full 90 minutes 17 times as he led a San Diego back line defense that allowed just 16 goals during the 2025 season. For his stellar play on the field, Warne earned his second consecutive appearance on the All-WCC First Team. He also served as team captain in 2025 after serving as co-captain during the 2024 season.

The Norwich, England native finishes his USD career by playing in 59 matches, totaling 5,075 minutes on the pitch, scoring a pair of goals and collecting nine assists across his four seasons. Warne also served as the team's captain in 2025 after assuming the duties of co-captain in 2024.

San Diego men's soccer team will enter the 2026 season seeking their fifth straight WCC title after another historic postseason run during the 2025 campaign.

Stay tuned to the team's website for more updates ahead of the fall season.
