USD Athletics Continues Academic Success in Spring 2025 Semester

Seventeen Torero teams combine to post 3.36 GPA during most recent grading period

SAN DIEGO — University of San Diego Athletics continued its academic success during the Spring 2025 semester, with all 17 Torero teams combining to achieve a 3.36 GPA.

The 3.36 collective grade point average marks an improvement from the 3.31 GPA the department recorded during the Fall 2024 period.

USD men's tennis and women's soccer led the way again this spring, notching 3.70 and 3.62 GPAs, respectively, to headline a group of 15 San Diego programs that had a 3.00 or higher.

"Our athletes continued to shine in the classroom this spring, which is a testament to their hard work and dedication, as well as the premium we place on academics at the University of San Diego," said Jessica Goerke, USD Deputy Athletic Director, Chief Operating Officer, and Senior Woman Administrator. "This achievement represents the best of our industry, where high-level academics and athletics go hand in hand as part of a well-rounded college experience."

339 (79.76%) of all USD student-athletes earned a 3.00 GPA or higher, and 34 Toreros posted a perfect 4.00 GPA.
