SAN DIEGO — Coming off a strong spring season, the San Diego men's rowing program will compete this spring in a variety of invitationals and competitions as a part of a schedule released early February.

Joe Tortella was named to the For Stars Network DI Men's Heavyweight Rowing Watchlist. Tortella was a mainstay in the Toreros' top V4+ and V8+ boats as a Freshman in 2025.
USD will start its spring season the way it the year prior, competing in a fixture with Orange Coast College in Newport Beach, Calif. on Feb. 14. Two Saturdays later, the team returns to Newport Bay to kick off the regular season at the California Challenge Cup on Feb. 28.
To start off the new month of competition, the Toreros will then travel up to Redwood City, Calif. to participate in the Redwoods Shores Invitational on March 7-8.
The Toreros will then host its annual home regatta, the San Diego Crew Classic at the end of the month on March 28-29 in Mission Bay.
Heading to the East Coast for the first of two times on the season, the Toreros will travel to Fairfax Station, Va. to compete in the Occoquan Invitational on April 12.
In the program's return to the Golden State, USD will travel up to Sacramento as the postseason commences at the WIRA Championships in Lake Natoma on April 25-26.
San Diego will then head back east to Camden, N.J. to compete in the Dad Vail Regatta on the Cooper River on May 8-9, before ultimately returning to Sacramento to finish the season racing in the IRA National Championships on May 29-31.
