Michael Ramazzotti is entering his second year with the USD baseball program as the Director of Operations. He will help assist head coach Rich Hill in many capacities.
Ramazzotti's main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, setting up for every practice and game, formatting and posting video for the players and coaches to analyze, as well as assisting with on-campus recruiting and baseball camps hosted by the coaching staff. He will assist with travel accommodations before and during trips, finding summer ball teams for current players, any equipment needs, and handling of all expense reports for the staff.
Ramazzotti comes to USD with a wealth of baseball experience. He served as an assistant coach at Santa Barbara City College in 2015. With his help, SBCC reached the playoffs for a sixth consecutive season. 10 Vaqueros earned All-WSC North honors, and the team posted a 19-18 overall record. Mike has also coached at the varsity level as the lead assistant at Mira Mesa High School and San Pasqual High School. He also served as the Associate Head Coach of the Pt. Loma Possums in the San Diego Coastal Collegiate League in the summer of 2016.
Prior to his coaching career, Ramazzotti spent time as a player in three professional organizations. He had stints with the Yuma Scorpions of the Golden Baseball League (2009), the Marina Waves of the Italian Professional Baseball League (2008), and the El Paso Diablos of the American Association (2006).
Ramazzotti played collegiate baseball for four seasons. He spent two seasons at New Mexico Highlands University, where in his senior season he earned Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Honorable mentions accolades. And two seasons at Santa Rosa Junior College helping the team to two conference championships and state playoff births.
Ramazzotti is a 2005 graduate of New Mexico Highlands University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing. He also holds a Masters Degree in Sports Science from the United States Sports Academy.
