HIGH SCHOOL: Played baseball at Newbury High School as well as Royal High School...as a senior, he recorded one win, had three saves, posted a 1.31 ERA in eight total appearances and 16 innings of work at Royal HS...as a junior at Newburn HS, he posted a 2-0 record in 12 innings of work before suffering an injury...and as a sophomore at Newburn HS, he posted a 3-3 record in 44 innings of work, while also playing in the Ventura County All-Stars game and the VIBL All-Star game. PERSONAL: Connor Detko was born on July 3, 1992 in Ventura, Calif....he is the son of Bill and Robin Detko...he was also recruited by Cal Poly, USC, Pepperdine and Cal Baptist...chose to attend USD because of the great baseball program, the location and a high level of academics...his grandfather, Robert Butterfield, played tennis at UCLA...he notes that he plays the drums.
