Senior in 2004/Career: Fifth-year senior from nearby Fallbrook, California... Returned from a redshirt year in 2002 to pitch well as a junior and then solidify the Torero rotation as a senior, helping USD win 35 games in 2004... Went through a stretch in late March and early April in which he was untouchable... Retired 14 batters in a row against UC Riverside (3-31-04) and followed with a dominating six-hit outing against city rivals San Diego State (4-6-04) a week later... Made an immediate impact upon his arrival at USD in 2000, appearing in 27 games, an all-time Torero Top-10... Totaled over 100 career strikeouts and was an essential part of a San Diego program that enjoyed the success of five straight 30-win campaigns.
Junior in 2003: Made his first appearance midway through the season at CS Fullerton (3-11-03)... Went on to make 11 total appearances all in relief... Picked up a win against at Gonzaga (4-27-03) after a scoreless inning of work... Totaled 15 innings, yielded 17 hits and posted an ERA of 4.20... Did not allow a homerun... His two plus innings vs. rival San Diego State (4-22-03) was a season high... Set down the side on strikeouts against USC (3-18-03) in his second outing of the year.
2002: Sat out the entire season as a medical red shirt.
Sophomore in 2001: Started 11 games for USD as a sophomore... Pitched a complete game vs. San Francisco (4-1-01) allowing just one run in a winning effort... Totaled a record of 3-5 with a 6.55 ERA... Struck out seven in 4.2 innings of work vs. Portland (3-11-01).
Freshman in 2000: Team-best 27 appearances... Scattered 1 hit in 4.0 innings of action against Hawaii-Hilo (1-24-00) to pick up first collegiate win... Allowed just 1 hit in 3.0 innings against Gonzaga (4-15-00) for 4th win... Season-best 4 K[apos]s against San Francisco (4-2-00)... Earned saves against Hawaii-Hilo (1-22-00) and LMU (4-22-00)... 1-1 with save in WCC play.
Prep: Second Team All-CIF pick and Avocado League co-MVP senior year going 9-2 with 98 strikeouts... Selected to All-State All-Star team and named 1st Team North County...
