USD: The second-year transfer will compete at linebacker for the Toreros... Appeared in four games in 2011... Recorded three tackles (two solo).

Junior College: Played at Laney Junior College where he was part of two winning Bowl games (2008 Graffiti Bowl & 2009 Eagle Bowl)... In 2009 he was received the Best Linebacker award.

High School: Attended Deer Valley High School where he was a varsity letterman in football and 2007 graduate... Team Captain... Team was undefeated BVAL champion for the Deer Valley League... 1st Team All-BVAL honors... Scholar-athlete that carried a 3.5 grade point average.

Personal: Born September 28, 1989 in Oakland, CA...Parents are Jennifer Young and Lawrence Hughes...Chose USD for the great campus, education and tradition...Also recruited by San Diego State, Hofstra University and Prairie View A & M.
