HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Grossmont High School...was coached by Ron Murphy...named first-team all-league as a junior and senior...recognized with the Academic Excellence Award and was a Union Tribune Scholar...averaged 40.2 yards per punt his senior season...also lettered twice in volleyball...was an all-league scholar...voted most improved on his team. PERSONAL: Born Jul. 17 1991 in La Mesa, Calif....parents are Randy and Kathleen Rivers...also received recruiting interest from Chapman, Pacific, Hawaii, and Sacramento State...he chose USD because it is close to home and he loves the campus and the football program...notes that he is an Eagle Scout, loves to read, and includes History as his favorite subject...he has three younger sisters...aspires to play in the NFL after college and then hopes to travel the world.
