- Competed in four races for the Toreros in the 1V8 and 2V4

- Competed in two races for the Toreros in the Second Varsity Eight
FRESHMAN (2021)
- Competed in four races for the Toreros in the 2V8+ and the JV8
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB
- Participated in high school football
- Was a recognized scholar-athlete with a 4.0 GPA
- Rowed with the Oakland Strokes (2017-2020)
- Placed third in the men’s novice B 8 Southwest Region in 2017
- Finished third in 2018 in the Southwest Region in the men’s 5v 8
- Finished fourth in the 2019 Southwest Region men’s JV 8
PERSONAL
- Son of Andrew Fairbanks and Mei Lan Chen, has three siblings, Sara, Lauren and Ryan
- Great grandmother was one of the first female rowers at Cal. Uncle played football at San Francisco state, and stepfather played football and Colgate.
- Served his community as a junior counselor at Farm Camp in Cazedero, CA
- Also completed a service trip to Nicaragua in 2017
- Enjoys skating, surfing and playing video games
- Chose USD because, “I felt that I would have a lot more academic growth with smaller class sizes and I would be able to make a positive lasting impact within the rowing program.”
