Josh Jonte

    Softball Volunteer Asst. Coach (4th Season)
Josh Jonte joined the USD softball team as a volunteer assistant coach in the fall of 2011. He works primarily with the outfielders and hitters. As a native to San Diego, Jonte is a "local" to the baseball and softball community. In 2015, Jonte helped the Toreros win 29 games, their most since the 2000 season. USD finished in second place in the WCC, marking the fourth time in the past five seasons the Toreros have finished in second place. In 2014 under Jonte's guidance, the Toreros hit .282 in WCC play and led the conference in hits (122) and doubles (eight). Jonte graduated from Helix High School in 1993 where he played baseball and soccer. He spent eight years coaching baseball at Helix, beginning in 1996. This created a strong coaching foundation as he transitioned to coaching softball in 2004. Jonte also played fastpitch softball for 3 years. He had the pleasure of coaching both of his daughters at Navajo Girls Fastpitch for six years. During that time he committed four years on the executive board, with two years as president.
