Tammy Leibl has returned to the sidelines for head coach Jennifer Petrie for her third consecutive season, after an 11-year absence from USD. This will mark her ninth season with the Toreros all together, as she served as an assistant for six season at USD from 1993-1999, serving as the team[apos]s top assistant in 1998 and 1999. Leibl brings vast international playing experience to the Torero staff after competing in three Olympics (1988, 1992, & 1996) and more than 400 international matches for USA Volleyball. In 1993 she was named the USOC Female Athlete of the Year. A member of the US 1992 Bronze-Medal-Winning Team in Barcelona, Leibl first joined the US National Team in 1987. Another highlight of her distinguished international career included a bronze medal won at the 1990 World Championships. Leibl played collegiate volleyball at Arizona State University from 1983-86 where she ranks in the top five in multiple career offensive and defensive categories. After two All-PAC-Ten seasons at ASU, Leibl earned All-America honors in 1985-86. Following her Sun Devil career, Leibl was selected PAC-Ten Player of the Decade. Tammy is married to Geoffrey Leibl, a USD graduate and immigration attorney, the two reside in Del Mar, California with their two sons, Tyler and Noah.
