SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) - Cameron Goettsche scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds as UC Santa Barbara beat the University of San Diego 90-70.

The Gauchos (4-2) shot 50.9 percent to score their highest point total since Feb. 10, 2001.

The Toreros (2-7) were led by Brandon Gay's 18 points, but foul trouble kept him on the bench for all but six minutes of the first half.

UC Santa Barbara took advantage by racing to a 52-30 halftime lead, with Cecil Brown scoring 14 of his 16 points and Goettsche getting 10 of his 17.

Joe See added 15 points for the Gauchos, making a trio of 3-pointers in the second half. Jacoby Atako had 13 points and a pair of 3-pointers.

UCSB shot 10-for-18 from behind the 3-point line.
