Former University of San Diego women's basketball standout Erin Malich signed a contract to play professionally with CBV Binnenland of the Dutch Premier League. Malich finished her four-year career at USD as one the school's most prolific scorers.
Malich, a 6-foot-2 forward/center from Cincinnati, Ohio, was San Diego's leading scorer in each of the last two seasons. As a senior, Malich was honored as a first team All-West Coast Conference player. Malich led the Toreros into the WCC Tournament's semi-finals in 2003 highlighting a season in which she averaged 15.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
Malich compiled 1,071 career points, joining just six other players in San Diego school history to reach the 1,000-point plateau. Malich also accumulated 509 career rebounds and 92 blocked shots, ranking her among USD's all-time leaders.
