The 28th-ranked USD men's tennis team heads to Malibu on Tuesday to take on the 32nd-ranked Pepperdine Waves in a 1:30 p.m. match. The Toreros, with a record of 4-1, are coming off a 6-1 loss to the 19th-ranked USC Trojans. San Diego's schedule doesn't get any easier with road matches scheduled vs. No. 10 Washington on Saturday, Feb. 21st (12 noon; at Fresno State) and No. 39 Fresno State on Sunday, Feb. 22nd (12 noon).
In singles play the Toreros are being paced by senior Jason Pongsrikul, junior Nic Beuque and freshman Jeff Das, all with 4-1 records thus far. Pierrick Ysern, playing No. 1 singles for the Toreros, is currently ranked No. 11 in the nation and owns a 2-3 mark. Junior Robbie Blair is 3-1 at No. 4 singles.
USD does not return for a home match until February 28th when they entertain crosstown rival San Diego State in a 12:30 p.m. match at the USD West Courts.
