During his senior year in 2005, Blair finished 16-5 in singles and teamed with Thomas Liversage in doubles for a 15-8 mark. In his junior campaign, Blair earned West Coast Conference Honorable Mention accolades in singles, finishing with a 10-6 record, mainly playing in the No. 2 and No. 4 spots. As a sophomore, Blair reached the round of 16 of several prestigious tournaments, including the Wathen/Hancock Bulldog Classic and Omni Hotels Southern California Regional Championship. His 14 victories that season tied him with the most on the squad and contributed to his being named to the All-WCC Honorable Mentions Singles Team.

Prior to his career as a Torero, Blair was the No. 1 player in South Africa and ranked as high as No. 60 in the world as a junior player. He represented South Africa in the World Cup in the U-14, U-16, and U-18 divisions and reached the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon and Australian junior events in the doubles bracket.

'I am ecstatic to have Robbie Blair continue as a Torero,' said head coach Tom Hagedorn. 'To have a player of his caliber will only help the program. Robbie has helped our team move up the rankings the last four years as a player and he will continue to do so as the assistant coach. Robbie has a work ethic that is second to none.'
