LOS ANGELES – No. 16 San Diego men's tennis picked up its fifth straight sweep to start conference play and extended its total winning streak to nine matches with a dominant 4-0 road blanking of No. 51 LMU on Friday.
 

The Toreros (17-4, 5-0 WCC) wasted no time asserting control in doubles, winning two of the three courts to claim the early point and set the tone for the afternoon. The 2024 ITA All-American National Champion tandem of Stian Klaassen and Oliver Tarvet combined for the first time this season and made quick work on court two, rolling to a 6-3 victory.
 

Freshman Manvydas Balciunas and Vincent Marysko were equally efficient on court three, dispatching their opponents 6-4 to clinch the doubles point.
 

USD carried the momentum seamlessly into singles, where ITA No. 21 Oliver Tarvet led the charge with a dominant performance on main court, shutting out Wuelfing 6-0, 6-1. Tarvet has now won 10 matches in a row, dropping just one game in his last four sets, two in his last five to improve to 16-2 on the season.
 

Also staying scorching hot was fellow senior Neo Niedner who was the next to finish, winning his ninth straight match with a pair of 6-2 sets on court six to move USD's lead to 3-0. The Frankfurt, Germany native moves to 9-3 on the season, not having lost a match since Jan. 23.
 

On court three, Marysko backed up his doubles effort with another strong showing and closed the door, topping his Lion counterpart on court three, 6-3, 6-4 to clinch the match and leave the rest unfinished.  
 

The Toreros have now shutout their opponents in the first five matches of WCC competition for the second time in the last five seasons. The program has never swept six straight matches in conference action.
