(Moraga, CA) - The USD women's tennis team, ranked 46th in the nation and seeded No. 2 at this year's WCC Championships, opened with a 4-0 over No. 7 seed San Francisco today. With the win the Toreros improve to 10-8 on the season. The Toreros won the doubles point, then earned singles wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 singles. Garnering singles wins for the Toreros were Emma Murphy at No. 1, Lauren Perl and No. 2 and Jenny Brown at No. 4. All other matches were suspended after the Toreros clinched the match. In Saturday's semis USD will face either #3 LMU or #6 Portland in a 3:00 p.m. match.
