The USD men's tennis team had another successful season under 8th year head coach Tom Hagedorn. Program highlights included:
- 2nd straight NCAA Appearance - 2nd Place Finish At West Coast Conference Championships - 8th Straight Winning Season - A Season High Ranking Of 27th in the nation - Solid Wins Over Ranked Teams From Tulane, Florida State, Minnesota, San Diego State, Purdue & Middle Tennessee State to name a few. - No losses to non-NCAA Tournament Teams and only one loss outside of the top-32 nationally. - Sophomore Pierrick Ysern reached a season-high ranking of 11th in the nation in January. - Senior Jason Pongsrikul was WCC Player of the Month for January. - Freshman Jeff Das had a team-best dual match singles record of 15-5. - Four Toreros were recognized by the WCC - Pierrick Ysern was First Team All-WCC Singles; Robbie Blair was honorable mention All-WCC singles; and Jason Pongsrikul & Nic Beuque were honorable mention All-WCC Doubles. - Pierrick Ysern was named to the WCC All-Academic Men's Tennis Team.
Looking to Next Year: -The Toreros return 7 of their top 8 and look to have another stellar year. - USD will have another challenging schedule in 2005 with matches against USC, UCLA, Stanford, Cal, Washington, Arizona, Virginia Commonwealth, San Diego State, Harvard, Northwestern, Michigan and Fresno State.
