IRVINE, CA - The University of San Diego men's tennis team clinched a 7-0 victory over the UC Irvine Anteaters Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at Anteater Tennis Stadium.

The Toreros, currently ranked 37th in the nation, won two of three doubles matches to take the doubles point. The team of Pierrick Ysern and Thomas Liversage won their match at the No. 1 spot (8-3) while Matt Ozurovich and Mirza Koristovic claimed victory at No. 3 doubles (8-6). Jonas Mouly and Oscar Plotnik dropped their match 9-8(3) in the No. 2 slot.

In singles action, national runner-up Pierrick Ysern claimed victory over his opponent by scores of 6-1 and 6-4. Mirza Koristovic's comeback victory over UCI's Victor Lamm (4-6, 7-6, 6-2) helped seal the team win for USD. Oscar Plotnik defeated his opponent by scores of 7-6 and 6-4. Thomas Liversage dropped his second set to Irvine's Aaron Ellis but won the match (6-1, 3-6, 6-3) and Jonas Mouly came back from being down one set to win (5-7, 7-5, 6-4). Torero newcomer Chris Loetzee made his debut with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Shimpei Suzuki of UC Irvine.

San Diego kicks off a three-match home stretch Saturday when they face UNLV at 12:30 at USD's West Tennis Courts.
