SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Sophomore left-hander Josh Romanski of the University of San Diego baseball team was named the West Coast Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week after displaying a dominating performance in Saturday's 2-0 win over Saint Mary's College.
On Saturday, Romanski threw a two-hit gem to help lead USD to a 2-0 win. Romanski allowed no runs on two hits, while striking out a career-high nine batters and only walking one batter in his first complete game his career. Romanski has now moved his ERA down to 2.81 with an overall record of 5-1. In WCC action, the sophomore from Corona, Calif. is 1-0 with a 0.54 ERA in 16.2 innings of work.
Romanski and the 21st-ranked Toreros will return to action on Tuesday as they host UC Riverside in a 3 p.m. game inside the friendly confines of Cunningham Stadium.
