SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego women's soccer team continues to receive accolades after another historic season. The Toreros have finished the season ranked No. 16 in both the NSCAA top-25 poll and Soccerbuzz top-30 poll, and senior goalkeeper Brittany Cameron was named second-team All-Far West Region by the NSCAA and Natalie Vinti took home third-team All-Far West region honors.
Cameron, who became just the second Torero to earn the league's top defensive honor and the first since Dawn Birdsall took home the award in 1995. Cameron helped San Diego to a second place finish in the WCC standings, helped lead the team to the most wins in conference play in program history and helped the team advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.. The Dublin, CA native posted four shutouts in seven WCC games to rank second in the conference. Overall, she posted nine shutouts, and posted an goals-against-average of 0.75.
Vinti, a second-team All-WCC performer, helped lead San Diego to a second place finish in the WCC standings, helped lead the team to the most wins in conference play in program history and helped the team advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after recording three assists for three points. Vinti played as USD's center back and helped anchored down the USD defense to 13 shutouts and a goals-against-average of 0.75.
