(San Diego, CA) - The USD men's tennis team evened their season record at 4-4 with Friday's 4-1 win over the visiting Memphis Tigers (5-3). The Toreros bypassed playing the doubles matches first due to inclement weather conditions and went straight into singles play. Thomas Liversage and Dean Jackson won in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 2 singles to give the Toreros an early 2-0 lead. A three-set singles victory from Charl Wolmarans at No. 3 singles, and a 6-2, 6-0 win by Nils Schive at No. 5 singles helped secure the victory. USD returns to the courts Saturday to take on Saint Mary's College in a 12:30 p.m. match.
