Toreros Jump Three Spots to 26th in Rankings

March 8, 2011

SAN DIEGO, Calif.- The University of San Diego women's tennis team jumped three spots to No. 26 in the Campbell/ITA women's tennis rankings released on Tuesday afternoon. The jump comes on the heels of an off week for the Toreros (6-3). Their last match that was factored into the rankings was a 5-2 loss to then-ranked No. 17 Southern California at home on Feb. 25th.

The Toreros defeated Boston College at home on Tuesday afternoon 7-0, but that victory will be considered for next week's rankings.

The Toreros are led by freshman Anna Depenau's 7-2 dual singles record and team-best 10 overall singles wins. Sophomore Stephanie Hoffpauir is currently ranked 96th in singles with a 6-2 record, while Hoffpauir and junior Juliette Coupez are ranked 70th in doubles at an even 3-3.

USD returns to action on Saturday, March 12th when they travel to Moraga, Calif. to face San Francisco and Saint Mary's.
