TEMPE, Ariz. – During the Halloween weekend, San Diego women's tennis traveled to Arizona State University for the Thunderbird Invitational, Oct. 31 to Nov. 2. 
 
The pairing of junior Kristina Nordikyan and freshman VIlma Krebs-Hyllested shined for the Toreros, winning all three of their doubles matches. 
 
They won 7-5 over SMU's Natalie Stasny and Sophie Llewellyn on Friday, a second 7-5 win against Arizona State's Lily Taylor and Sara Svetac followed by a 6-3 set victory over UCSB's Raphaelle Leroux and My-Anh Holmes. 
 
Also having success at USD head coach Nadia Abdala's alma mater was sophomore Gabby Gregg, who won both of her doubles matches and both singles matches. 
 
Gregg, who was paired with senior Charlotte Keitel, defeated a couple of Northern Arizona pairs. It first beat Leontina Stojanovic and Patrycja Niewiadomska, 6-3, on Halloween before a dominating 6-1 victory over Mia Wolter and Leontina Stojanovic on Nov. 2. 
 
The San Diego sophomore won her lone match on the middle day, taking down UC Santa Barbara's Carla Pacot 7-6 and 6-1 in the tiebreak before a 6-2 second set victory. On Sunday, she won her singles match on an injury retirement.

The Toreros return to action this weekend for two different tournaments. Some of the Toreros will compete in the ITA West Sectional Championships up the Pacific Coast in Seattle, Wash. from Nov. 6-9, while others will play at the ITA Conference Masters Championships at the nearby Barnes Tennis Center in America's Finest City.
