Complete Women's Rankings
SAN DIEGO, Calif.- The University of San Diego women's tennis team held steady at No. 24 in the most recent Campbell/ITA rankings released Tuesday afternoon. The Toreros (14-4, 3-2 WCC) defeated Loyola Marymount at home this past Saturday by a score of 6-1.
Sophomore Stephanie Hoffpauir is currently ranked 75th in singles. Hoffpauir narrowly lost her singles match this past weekend to LMU's April Bisharat 7-6, 5-7, 11-9. She has an 11-5 singles record on the year.
Hoffpauir and junior Juliette Coupez are at No. 63 in the doubles rankings. USD's No. 1 tandem is 8-7 on the year with wins over two top-30 pairs this season. They topped LMU's April Bisharat and Melissa Valenzuela this past Saturday 8-2.
This marks the fourth-straight week the Toreros have been ranked in the top-25. The last time USD finished the season in the top-25 was in 1996 when the Toreros finished at No. 25 with a 15-9 record, while losing in the first round of the NCAA championships.
The Toreros play host to cross-town rival San Diego State on Wednesday, April 6th at 1:30 p.m. and Oregon on Saturday, April 9th at 10:00 a.m., with both matches being played at Hogan Tennis Center.
