Results

ARIZONA - The 24th-ranked Toreros traveled to Tucson, Ariz. Friday to face No. 61 Arizona and handed the Wildcats a convincing shutout. USD won all their singles matches and all but one of the doubles matches to secure the victory.

The Toreros were led in doubles action by their No. 1 tandem of Nikola Bubnic and Thibaut Visy, who defeated Andre Vidaller and Sumeet Shinde in straight sets. Toreros' No. 3 tandem of Victor Pugilese and Clarke Spinosa defeated Mario Urquidi and Carlos Bermudez 8-9 to clinch the doubles point. The only defeat the Toreros tasted all afternoon came from the Wildcats' No. 2 tandem of Giacomo Miccini and Sebastian Ionescu, who defeated Ciaran Fitzgerald and Patrick Pohlmann 8-3.

In singles action, both Pohlman and Fitzgerald redeemed themselves. Pohlman defeated Vidaller 7-5, 6-1 and Fitzgerald defeated Ionescu in straight sets (6-0, 6-0).

The Toreros were dominant in other singles action, with the results from the rest of the competition listed below.

San Diego returns to the court tomorrow for a match against Denver on Saturday, Feb. 18th at 1:30 pm at Arizona's LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
