SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The 16th-ranked University of San Diego men's tennis team defeated Oklahoma State, 4-0, in the semi-finals of the Hilton San Diego Mission Valley Spring Classic before falling to No. 26 Harvard, 4-2, in the finals on Friday evening from the Hogan Tennis Center. The Toreros went 2-1 overall in the tournament. Due to some weather-related schedule changes, Friday's action began with singles, with doubles being contested only if needed to determine a winner.

USD (9-5) didn't need to get to doubles in their first match of the day as they got wins from No. 60 Nikola Bubnic at No. 1 (6-3, 4-6, 6-3), No. 106 Patrick Pohlmann at No. 2 (6-1, 6-1), Clarke Spinosa at No. 3 (6-1, 6-4), and Andrew Carlisle at No. 6 (6-0, 6-0). The other two singles contests were left unfinished once USD clinched the win over Oklahoma State (5-6).

Against Harvard (13-1) in the tournament final, Pohlmann posted a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1, while Bubnic earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 2. Harvard captured the remaining singles contests to clinch the win.

USD has a week off before traveling to face Portland on Friday, Mar. 23 for their first West Coast Conference match of the season.
