PROVO, UT - The University of San Diego women's tennis team posted a 5-2 win over BYU in their West Coast Conference opener on Monday afternoon in Provo. The Toreros (4-7) captured the doubles point before moving on to win four of six singles contests.

Cara Brown and Stephanie Hoffpauir earned the first USD doubles win with an 8-3 victory at No. 3, improving the pair to 3-1. Anna Depenau and Maja Sujica continued their outstanding play this season by improving to 10-0 on the year with their 8-3 win at No. 2. Juliette Coupez and Idil Haciraifoglu came up short in their doubles contests at No. 1 with an 8-5 loss.

In singles, the Toreros got wins from Hoffpauir at No. 2 (7-5, 7-5), No. 97 Depenau at No. 3 (3-6, 7-6, 7-5), Haciraifoglu at No. 5 (3-6, 6-3, 6-2), and Brown at No. 6 (6-3, 6-3).

USD returns to action when they host Portland on Friday, Mar. 23 at 1:30 pm at the Hogan Tennis Center.
