USD women hand LMU 6-1 defeat

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The University of San Diego women's tennis team bounced back for a 6-1 win over Loyola Marymount on Saturday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Center. The Toreros captured the doubles point by winning two of the three contests before moving on to win five of six singles matches on the day.

Anna Depenau and Maja Sujica highlighted the doubles action for USD (7-8, 4-1 WCC) as they tallied their 14th-straight doubles victory, an 8-4 win at No. 2. The pair, who was honored as WCC Doubles Team of the Month for March, is a perfect 14-0 in dual doubles play this season.

Stephanie Hoffpauir and Cara Brown also registered a doubles victory for the Toreros with their 8-5 win at No. 3. Since coming together as a pair, Hoffpauir and Brown are 6-2 in doubles competition.

In singles, each Torero won their respective match in two sets. The only USD loss came at No. 2 where Hoffpauir retired against Claudia Razzeto in the first set.

The 71st-ranked Toreros return to action on Wednesday, Apr. 11 when they travel across town for a non-conference showdown with San Diego State at 2:00 pm from the Aztec Tennis Center.
