SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego women's basketball team continues to receive votes in the Associated Press top-25 poll, after remaining undefeated on the season at 9-0. This marks the second consecutive week, USD has received votes.

The Toreros, who's 9-0 start to the season is the best in program history, and third best amongst any division I team in USD history, posted a pair of wins this past week over Cal State Fullerton and Seattle University. USD began the week with a thrilling 65-42 win over Fullerton behind the hot shooting of Malina Hood. Hood led all scorers with a career-high 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field, including hitting five 3-pointers. The second of three USD players in double figures was Amy Kame, who had 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field, and Felicia Wijenberg scored 10 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field, while pulling down six rebounds. As a team, USD shot 48.1% from the field, and out rebounded the Titans 32-29.

San Diego then went back to work this past Sunday, and despite a 8-0 deficit to begin the game against Seattle, they rallied back and cruised to a 79-56 victory. In this game, Katelyn McDaniel recorded her third double-double in the past four games, as she scored 17 points, on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, while pulling down 12 rebounds. Kame led all scorers with 18 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field, while dishing out four assists. Sophia Ederaine came off the bench to score 14 points, and pulled down 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season, and Hood recorded 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field. As a team, USD shot 51.6% from the field and out rebounded the Redhawks, 37-36.

The Toreros will return to action on Friday, as they head up to Long Beach, to take on the Long Beach State 49ers in a 7 p.m. non-conference game at the Pyramid.
