"Breakdown With Blanche" Volume Three: Preparing for the New Journey

USD Women's Basketball begins their new season November 3rd

Hey Torero Family,

The last few weeks have marked tremendous progress for our program. From the first official practices to connecting with our community and celebrating Torero Athletics across campus, we've continued to lay the foundation for what's ahead. The work is taking shape, and each day brings us closer to the team we're building together here in San Diego.

On September 23rd, we officially kicked off official practices, and the energy around the program has been electric. Each day, our group is coming together — improving, building chemistry, discovering who we are as a team and focusing on being process driven vs results driven.

On the court, we're installing our actions and shaping our team identity — defending, rebounding, and running! We're focused on excelling on the defensive end while playing at a fast, yet poised, pace offensively. Every practice brings us closer to fully realizing this vision.

Off the court, we're taking the time to identify our strengths and areas for growth as a group, building the togetherness that will carry us through the highs and lows of the season. Having intentional conversations now is key to navigating the challenges and successes ahead as one cohesive unit.

One of the biggest highlights this fall was our Breakfast & Basketball Open Practice in the Basketball Performance Center. We loved connecting with our family, friends, and the Torero community. The energy in the gym was incredible, and our friends at Broken Yolk provided an outstanding breakfast to those who attended! To make it even better, it was a big day for USD Athletics overall, with Torero Volleyball and Football both picking up big wins. Being able to support them and celebrate alongside the greater USD family made the day extra special.

Beyond the court, our team continues to pour into the campus and community. Our players are finding meaningful ways to connect and contribute, reminding us that USD Women's Basketball is built on more than just the game, it's about people, service, and pride in representing the University of San Diego.

Mark your calendars for Monday, November 3rd — Opening Day in the Jenny Craig Pavilion. It's the start of a new era for Torero Women's Basketball, and we want you with us from the very first tip.

Season tickets and Mini-Plans are available now, and your support will help set the tone for an unforgettable year. Let's pack the JCP and make it a true home-court advantage from day one.

Thank you for being part of this journey. We're just getting started, and it's going to be a memorable year.

It's Torero Time!
