COLUMBIA, S.C. - The No. 44 ranked Toreros (3-2) competed in an exciting match Saturday afternoon, defeating the No. 56 South Florida Bulls (5-2) 4-3 at the Carolina Tennis Center.

The Toreros, playing their first match after a three-week break, grabbed a critical doubles point and stayed solid in singles to solidify their win.

"Our guys competed really well today," Head coach Brett Masi said after the match. "We came out hungry after being locked in for three weeks. Andrew and Ciaran continue to lead us with their energy down at three doubles and Clarke and Filip played really well against the No. 22 ranked team in the country."

Although the Bulls took the first doubles match at No. 2, senior captain Clarke Spinosa and Filip Vittek continued their doubles success dominating No. 22 ranked Ignacio Gonzalez-Muniz and Oliver Pramming 8-2. Junior doubles duo Ciaran Fitzgerland and Andrew Fitzgerald stayed perfect for the season defeating Paul Polarczyk and Vadym Kalyzhnyy 8-2 and clinched the point.

In singles, the Toreros came out of the gate strong winning the first match at No. 4. Freshman Filip Vittek cruised past Sasha Gozun 6-2, 6-1. While the Bulls equalized the score at No. 5, Uros Petronijevic got the Toreros back on the board, beating Oliver Pramming 6-3, 6-2. USF's Federico Sabogal knocked off freshman Aaron Addison 6-2, 6-3. With the Toreros leading 3-2, sophomore Romain Kalaydjian clinched the win after a three-set battle, defeating Bull's Vadym Kalyuzhnyy 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

"Really proud of how Uros closed out his sets and competed," Masi said. "And I'm really happy for Romain clinching the match for us at three. Overall just a great team effort. Tomorrow is going to be a battle and we have to be ready to come out and do this again!"

Stay tuned as the Toreros take on the South Carolina Gamecocks tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. ET. Live streaming can be found here.
