SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The No. 61 University of San Diego men's tennis team (8-6, 3-0 WCC) fell to the No. 28 Harvard Crimson 4-0 in the semi-finals of the Hilton San Diego Mission Valley Spring Classic.

The Crimson's strong performance in doubles play gave them the edge they needed to take the match. After picking up a win at the No. 3 spot, Harvard's Brian Yeung and Alex Steinroeder knocked off sophomores Romain Kalaydjian and Uros Petronijevic 8-5.

In singles play, Harvard extended their lead after Andrew Ball got the victory over freshman Geoffrey Fosso 6-4, 6-0. The remaining five matches would all be neck and neck, with three going into third sets. Harvard's Shaun Chaudhuri edged out Kalaydjian 7-6(4), 6-4. Although leading on courts 1, 4, and 5, the Crimson's No. 103 Sebastian Beltrame narrowly ousted Petronijevic 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.

The Toreros return to action to compete for third place tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. PT against the No. 32 Memphis Tigers at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center.
