Jan. 22, 2015 The Hobart Chargers (SEABL) inked former University of San Diego women's basketball standout Amy Kame to a professional contract, the first of her young career.
Kame, a two-time First-team All-WCC selection, finished her senior season (2013-14) by averaging an impressive 17.2 points-per-game, 5.8 rebounds-per-game, 3.9 assists-per-game and 2.3 steals-per-game. She helped lead the team to the Sweet 16 round of the WNIT as a senior as well. Kame was named the National Player of the Week once back on Jan. 7, 2014. Kame finished her career as the No. 3 all-time leading scorer in Torero history, with 1,543 career points.
In her junior season, Kame was the team's leading scorer with an average of 16.1 ppg, while shooting .402 from the field. Kame was named the WCC Player of the Month for November, and took home one WCC Player of the Week award. Kame scored 20 or more points in seven games this season, and scored in double figures in all but seven of the 31 games she played in.
As a sophomore, she took home All-WCC honorable mention accolades after helping propel the Toreros into the final four of the WNIT, posting a program best 26-9 overall record. Kame was USD's third leading scorer with 11.1 ppg, while shooting .415 from the field.
As a freshman, Kame was limited to about half a season, after battling through some early injuries, but came on string late to help the Toreros down the stretch.
