San Diego Hall of Champions Press Release
May 6, 2015 SAN DIEGO, Calif.- Freshman rightfielder Kailey Hill (Ramona, Calif.) was named Star of the Month of April by the San Diego Hall of Champions. On top of posting a .486 (17-for-35) batting average in April, she also set a USD single-season record for home runs. She hit three home runs in April to raise her season total to 12, breaking the previous record of 11 set by Taylor Hensley in 2010.
Hill led the Toreros in nearly every offensive category in April, notching 17 hits, nine RBI, 31 total bases, an astronomical .886 slugging percentage, and a .500 on-base percentage. She currently leads the WCC in home runs, slugging percentage, and total bases.
This is the second straight month a Torero has earned this honor. Freshman pitcher Paige von Sprecken was recognized in March.
