STOCKTON, CALIF -- In a match delayed by rain throughout the day in Stockton, California, the 28th ranked USD men's tennis team would eventually pull off a 4-1 victory over No. 70 Pacific (13-12, 5-3 WCC). The win improves USD's season record to 19-7, and runs their WCC mark to 7-0. It also runs their WCC regular-season winning streak to 25 straight victories.

"The weather today was far from ideal with close to 20 mile per hour winds, but our boys stayed mentally engaged and positive," said USD head coach Ryan Keckley. "We played percentage tennis in the big moments and when push came to shove, competed our way out of trouble. Jordan did a great job getting us on the board early. He served well in harsh conditions and stayed the course. Our depth continues to give us the edge we need. I was very pleased with Alex and Josh battling their way down at 5 and 6. Give Pacific a lot of credit as they came to play. They are well coached and have had a tremendous season. We now set our sights on tomorrow as we face another conference rival, Saint Mary's College."

The teams decided to play the singles matches first and the Toreros got on the scoreboard first with 63rd-ranked Jordan Angus dealing Daniel Alameh a 6-4, 6-2 setback at No. 2 singles. USD would edge ahead 2-0 after Jordan Page earned a straight set 6-3, 7-5 victory over Bernardo Oliveira at No. 6 singles. Pacific would pull to within 2-1 after Sem Verbeek upset 56th-ranked Uros Petronijevic at No. 1 singles by scores of 7-6, 6-2. That would also snap USD's string of six consecutive shutout victories. The Toreros would close out the match with back-to-back wins by Jaan Kononov at No. 4 and Alexandros Araouzos at No. 5.

The Toreros continue WCC play tomorrow with a 12:00 p.m. match at Saint Mary's College in Moraga, California.
