Final Stats

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Toreros (2-4) played their second match of the weekend against No. 20 UCLA (5-1) on Sunday afternoon. USD's young team lost 5-2 in a tough battle against the top ranked UCLA program.

UCLA came out swinging for doubles competition, taking the first two points and clinching the win for doubles play.

First to finish in singles play was Maria-Paula Torrres, who defeated No. 91 Jada Hart. She won due to retirement (3-0) in the No. 4 position. The other win of the day for USD was from Kati Kukaras, who played in the No. 3 position. She defeated UCLA's Terri Fleming 6-3, 6-4.

The rest of the Toreros lost thier singles matches to tough competition from the Bruins including a loss to the No. 3 ranked singles player Ena Shibahara.

The Toreros play at home again next Sunday, Feb. 26 against No. 16 Arizona State University at 12:00 p.m.
