Final Stats

HONOLULU, HI - On Sunday the USD women's tennis team (2-2) defeated CSUN (2-2) in a 4-0 shutout. The women clinched the doubles point then won the first three singles points, ending the match.

The Toreros quickly finished doubles play after the No. 1 and No. 3 teams defeated CSUN. At the No. 1 position, Colomba DiFilppo and Daniela Morales defeated Mickey Hsu and Vivian Lin 6-0. At the No. 3 spot, Kati Kukaras and Sophia Chow beat Emma Roenholt and Kristen Poei 6-4. Left unfinished was the No. 2 USD doubles team of Nicole Anderson and Maria-Paula Torres.

Like the doubles play, the six singles matches ended quickly after the Toreros clinched the win with the first three singles victories. First to finish was USD's No. 4 singles player Daniela Morales, who toppled CSUN's Vivian Lin 6-2, 6-0. Second to finish was the No. 2 singles player Gemma Garcia, who played Mickey Hsu. She won after the third set due to Hsu retirement.

Last to finish, and the player that ended the match was Colomba DiFilippo, who played at the No. 5 spot. She defeated CSUN's Emma Roenholt 7-5, 6-2. After the final winning point, the No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 singles players left their games unfinished.

The Toreros pick up play against Arizona on Friday, February 10 at 1:30 p.m.
