Final Stats

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - USD (5-9) was toppled by the Princeton Tigers (8-6) Thursday afternoon, 4-1. The women fought hard throughout the match but only managed to earn one singles point.

Colomba DiFilippo was the sole Torero to win a point for USD. After her win, DiFilippo improved to 10-3 overall in singles play. She played in the No. 4 spot and defeated Nicole Kalhorn 6-3, 6-2.

The doubles point went to the Tigers after the No. 1 and No. 3 Princeton doubles teams won their matches. Colomba DiFilippo and Daniela Morales, on court one, went up against the No. 72 doubles team of Caroline Joyce and Nicole Kalhorn.

Gemma Garcia, Maria-Paula Torres and Sophia Chow all finished their matches against the Tigers. At the No. 3 position, Garcia was downed by Sivan Krems 6-4, 6-4. Torres, who played at the No. 5 spot, lost to Princeton's Caroline Joyce with a 6-4, 7-5 decision. And Chow was defeated by Clare Mckee 6-1, 7-5, at the No. 6 position. Two matches in singles play were left unfinished after Princeton clinched the win.

USD will compete against Gonzaga at home on Thursday, March 30 at 1:30 p.m.
