SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - After a long home match streak, the Toreros miss a win on the road against UC Santa Barbara Thursday. The Toreros lost the doubles point but picked up two points in singles play, ending with a score of 5-2.

UCSB got the doubles point after their No. 2 and 3 teams won their matches. The No. 1 team of Colomba DiFilippo and Daniela Morales played Melissa Baker and Palina Dubavets, but the match was left unfinished at 4-5 once UCSB clinched the doubles point.

In singles play Colomba DiFilippo, who played at the No. 4 spot, won the first of the singles matches. She defeated Baker with a score of 6-2, 6-2. Sophia Chow, at the No. 6 position finished next, but lost to Lev-Ari 6-0, 7-5.

Taking back a point for USD and next to finish was Daniela Morales. Morales played at the No. 2 position and defeated Natalie Da Silveira 6-0, 1-6, 6-1. Gemma Garcia played at the No. 3 spot and was beat by UCSB's Jaimee Gilbertson (6-0, 3-6, 3-6).

Nicole Anderson finished fifth against UCSB's Dubavets at the No. 1 position. After a long battle, Nicole fell to Dubavets 6-0, 5-7, 3-6. Last to finish was Maria-Paula Torres, who played in the No. 5 spot. She was toppled by UCSB's Amanda Atanasson 3-6, 6-3, 4-6.

On Saturday at 11 a.m. the women have another match on the road against Long Beach State.
