SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Toreros hosted the LMU Lions at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center Thursday afternoon. San Diego fell to their WCC competitor 4-2. LMU improved to 11-7 (3-3 WCC) while San Diego fell to 8-11 (4-2 WCC).

The Lions earned an early lead when they won the doubles point. On courts one and two LMU's doubles teams defeated both the Colomba DiFilippo, Daniela Morales pair and the Gemma Garcia, Jessica Regher duo, 6-3. Sophia Chow and Maria-Paula Torres won their match against Camila Tumosa and Micheline Auchoban in a 6-2 decision.

The Toreros fought hard to take back the lead but couldn't pick up the momentum to take the win. Despite being down, Nicole Anderson, at the No. 1 position, gained a point for USD when she won her match against Jessica Perez 6-3, 6-3.

Colomba DiFilippo was the second Torero to put a point on the scoreboard for San Diego. She competed against Anna Romeka on court four and won 6-4, 6-2.

Gemma Garcia won her first set, but lost the match due to early retirement. She was up 6-3 against Siobhan Anderson in the No. 3 spot. The only player who did not finish was Maria-Paula Torres at the No. 5 spot.
