MOREGA, Calif. - The Torero's WCC win streak was broken Saturday afternoon after a loss to Saint Mary's, 4-2. The two teams only played singles due to an ominous weather forecast.
Nicole Anderson and Maria-Paula Torres were the sole Toreros to win their matches on Saturday. Anderson, who played at the No. 1 position, defeated Jana McCord in a three set match (2-6, 6-2, 7-6). Maria-Paula Torres played on court five and toppled Danielle McIntyre with a swift 6-3, 6-3 defeat.
Daniela Morales on court two, Gemma Garcia on court three, Colomba DiFilippo on court four and Sophia Chow on court six all fell to Saint Mary's.
The Toreros were previously undefeated in conference play. After the Saint Mary's match the Toreros fell to 8-10 overall and 4-1 in conference. Saint Mary's improved to 9-6 and 4-1 in conference.
The women play Loyola Marymount University on Thursday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center.
