Professional Career Begins With Colorado

SAN DIEGO - San Diego goalkeeper Thomas Olsen will begin his professional soccer career with the Colorado Rapids after being selected in the third round of the Major League Soccer Super Draft on Sunday.

Olsen was the 50th overall pick and the sixth goalkeeper selected in the draft. He is the 12th USD player to be selected in the MLS draft in program history.

Olsen completed his Toreros career as one of the most accomplished goalkeepers in program history, ranking second in games played (71) and games started in goal (70), third in saves (203), fourth in wins (33), fifth in shutouts (18), and sixth in goals-against average (1.19).

Olsen had an outstanding senior season and was named All-WCC second team. He registered career bests in save percentage (.778) and saves (63), while holding a 1.00 goals-against average.
