Final Stats

SAN DIEGO -- San Diego earned the doubles point and Gemma Garcia picked up a point in singles play, but Saint Mary's took the win Sunday 4-2.

The Toreros competed in their second conference match of the season on Sunday against the Saint Mary's Gaels.

Nicole Anderson and Daniela Morales were the first to score for USD. They defeated SMC's Abdelouahid and Kozyreva at the number one doubles position, 6-3.

Kati Kukaras and Gemma Garcia clinched the doubles point at the No. 2 spot when they defeated Manji and Crister 6-2.

USD led 1-0 going into singles play. SMC scored the first three points of singles play to gain the lead 3-1.

Next, Gemma Garcia earned her second win of the day on court five against Crister (3-6, 6-3, 6-4).

The match points took place on court four and six, Kukaras and Nononmacher.

It was Saint Mary's Nommensen who clinched the win for the Gaels. She defeated USD's Nonenmacher at the No. 6 position.

The Gael's improved 6-5 and the Toreros fell 4-6 overall.

Next up, USD takes a break from conference play to compete against Colorado State on Wednesday and Texas State on Thursday.
